2006
An eight-clone blend, the reserve pinot noir is full-bodied, with a cassis, dark cherry, mineral, and cinnamon nose that shows earth, dark cherry, toast, cinnamon, ginger, and leather on the finish. Ripe tannins provide a backbone to this wine that should enhance aging over at least  6 to 10 years from the vintage date. Pairings: Hearty dishes, especially with game, salmon, wild mushrooms, olives, and spicy cuisine.

2002
Stag Hollow Reserve pinot noir has so much flavor and power it is hard to grasp all the complexities. Full-bodied, with a long spicy finish, the 2002 Reserve offers dark cherry that coats your mouth with flavor, then adds hints of ginger, cinnamon and nutmeg on the finish. It is a wine that goes on and on. This wine will age well for another 10 years, based on our experience with other similar vintages, such as the 1994 and 1998. Keep it in your cellar and pull out a bottle every year for special occasions.

2001
Aromas of mint, cloves, dried cherry, cinnamon, boysenberry, and blueberry give way to flavors of cassis, dried cherry, blueberries, and long spice finish.
The 2001 Reserve was harvested in two lots. Clones 777 and 114 were harvested first at 23.5 Brix, with good depth of flavors and skin spice. The second lot, maturing slower, consisted of clones 115, 538, and 375, and smaller amounts of 10/18, 113, 12, and 60. They were harvested with mature fruit flavors at 22.4 Brix, and brought in some needed acid backbone to the young vine blend.

The '01 Reserve was cold soaked and fermented slowly at cool temperatures using 5 yeasts--with 19-22 days of skin contact, and matured 17 months in 30% new oak (40% of the total aging was in barrels from the Vosges forest and 10 percent Oregon oak). Bottled 16 months after harvest, unfined and unfiltered.
