Newly Released - 2007 Pinot Noir Yamhill-Carlton

The 2007 vintage has developed a complexity and elegance typical of cooler vintages.  Though the vintage was a difficult one, the Stag Hollow 2007 pinot noirs are showing bright raspberry/cherry fruit with a long finish.  This vintage is certainly a contrast to the big ripe warm 2006 vintage.

Stag Hollow's 2007 Pinot Noir Yamhill-Carlton District is our reserve & Vendange Selection without the labels. The "Y-C" displays complex raspberry and cherry fruit and hints of cinnamon and vanilla, with a long complex finish. Available late fall 2009. Cases produced: 196. Price: $24.95/750 ml bottle.

Join us on Memorial Day Weekend to taste this and other new and current releases!

Released in May 2009, Stag Hollow brought back a proprietary name for pinot noir this vintage, the Vinnae. This entry level pinot noir displays cherry fruit with notes of winter spice on the finish.  This wine really shines with salmon baked with sun-dried tomatoes and garlic or pasta with marinara sauce sprinkled with parmesan cheese. Cases produced: 807. Price: $18.95/750 ml bottle.

Also released in May 2009, Stag Hollow's 2007 Field Blend Red has smoked out the door.  This blend of grape varieties grown at Stag Hollow is a great everyday wine to complement your meals.  It displays plum and raspberry fruit with dolcetto spiciness, earthy notes and a long finish. It is still available at a great price of $9.95/750 ml bottle.

tastings by appointment In Vineyard tasting room

May 1, 2008

Stag Hollow's newly redesigned tasting room is available for wine tastings by appointment. We try to accommodate, but an appointment made a few days in advance usually is necessary to arrange a tasting. No busses or long limos because of sharp turns in our road and turning radius.

2005 Reserve Pinot Noir earns a double Gold medal at the wine press Northwest judging

 Dec 2008

Our 2005 Reserve Pinot Noir won acclaim with a double gold medal at the Wine Press Northwest Platinum Judging of gold medal winning wines from the Pacific Northwest.

Wine Press NW Platinum tasting in December 2008.  Here is the quote:

“Mark Huff & Jill Zarnowitz launched this small winery and vineyard in 1994 near the town of Yamhill, Ore.  Through the years, they have quietly produced some of the state’s most distinctive Pinot Noirs.  This reserve -level wine reveals aromas of Rainier cherries, leather and hints of vanilla and orange oil, followed by flavors of black cherries, minerally earth and black pepper.  It’s a smooth wine from entry through the memorable finish.”
